Gordy Edward Atkinson, 69, of 665 Old Magnolia Rd. died early Monday in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of this city, a member of the First Methodist Church and a painting contractor. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille Goode Atkinson; one daughter, Mrs. Lynelle Owens of Hampton; four sons, Gordy E. Atkinson, Jr., of Pine Bluff, Bobby Lee Atkinson of Camden, Arthur R. Atkinson of Houston, Texas, and Rodney E. Atkinson of Little Rock; four sisters, Mrs. Calvin R. Tuberville of Camden, Mrs. Joe Griffin of Pine Bluff, Mrs. R. H. Duty of Lewisville and Mrs. T. G. Ward of Odessa, Texas, and eight grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Proctor Funeral Home. (Camden News - April 8, 1968)
