POWHATAN -- Bill Shaw, 76, of Powhatan died Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis.
Arrangements will be announced by House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.

POWHATAN -- Funeral services for Bill Shaw, 76, of Powhatan, who died Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge. Bob G. Smith will officiate, and burial will follow at Crossroads Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Sykes, Clarence Baxter, Jim Sykes, Bob Gowell, Howard Brooks and Ronald Dance.
Born in Portia, he had lived in Lawrence County most of his life and was a retired restaurateur. He served in the Army during World War II, was co-founder of Ark-Vets and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Kiplinger Shaw of the home; three daughters, Barbara Lambert of Bartlett, Tenn., Patty Elliott of Marion and Karen Shepherd of Chandler, Ariz.; a son, Benny Shaw of Marion; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
