SANDERS, J.E. - J.E. Sanders died Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W.M. McGarrah, after having been in poor health for some time. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Callison Undertaking chapel. Mr. Sanders had made his home in Benton county for a great many years and when the Democrat editor first knew him he was miller at the Silver Springs grist mill, now Monte Ne. For a number of years after coming to Rogers he ran a popcorn stand but failing health compelled him to give it up long ago. He was a man with many splendid qualities and a great many of our people had learned to look for his cheerful smile and cordial greeting.

SANDERS, Mary E. CAMPBELL - Mrs. J.E. Sanders died Tuesday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.M. McGarrah, corner of Fifth and Elm streets, after an illness of only a few days. Death was the result of a severe cold with other complications. Funeral services were held at the McGarrah residence yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. The maiden name of the deceased was Mary E. Campbell and she was born April 16, 1839 in Johnson Co., Mo., being at the time of her death 76 years, 8 months and 18 days old. Most of her life was spent in Missouri and she was married in that state February 14, 1875 to J.E. Sanders who survives her as does their only child, Mrs. Rose McGarrah. They came to Benton county from Kansas City in 1899, locating at Silver Springs (now Monte Ne) where her husband was the miller. Since then most of their life has been lived in Rogers, although they went west to Montana several times with Mr. McGarrah and family for short stays. Mrs. Sanders was a woman of many excellent qualities and virtues and her untimely death is a great sorrow to her aged husband and family.
