PARKS, Cynthia M. LEMON - Mrs. Parks, wife of Jas. Parks and mother of Geo. D. Parks and Mrs. Johnnie Rhodes of this city, died very suddenly yesterday morning about five o'clock at her home on Fifth street. Mrs. Parks has been in poor health for some time but had not been feeling any worse than usual the day previous and in fact had made several neighborly calls in the evening. She did not sleep well Monday night and coughed considerably. In the morning she told her husband she was not feeling well and he sent for Dr. Miller. She was sitting up on his arrival and there were no dangerous symptoms noticeable. Suddenly she laid back in the bed and before the doctor could reach her, was dead. Her death is supposed to be the result of heart failure. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at two o'clock at the home of her son, Geo. D. Parks, and will be conducted by Rev. Wheeler of the M.E. church of which Mrs. Parks has been a life long member. Mrs. Parks was 66 years old, having been born at Harrisburg, Indiana December 2, 1837. Her maiden name was Cynthia M. Lemon and she was married at Springville, Ind. to Jas. Parks. Five children were born to them, all of whom are now living and are as follows: Eugene Parks of Little Rock; Geo. D. Parks of Rogers; Mrs. Jessie Schafer of Scott, Ohio; Mrs. Laura Bates of Chicago and Mrs. Mattie Rhodes of Rogers. Mrs. Parks came to Rogers with her husband and two daughters in the fall of 1897. She had quite a large circle of friends among our citizens and her sudden death will be greatly regretted by all who knew her. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved relatives and especially to the husband, who is almost stricken down by the great loss.
