Mrs. Addie Montgomery Dies After Brief Illness

Mrs. Addie Montgomery, aged 82 died at an early hour last Tuesday morning, following a brief illness. She contracted pneumonia less that a week before her demise. She was at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Robert Nelson near Wideman, when the end came.

Mrs. Montgomery was born in the community where she was residing at the time of her death, having spent her entire life in that neighborhood. As a young woman she was married to Thos. Absolem Montgomery of the same community. Mr Montgomery's death occurred a few years after their marriage.

Mrs. Montgomery spent a great deal of her time in Calico Rock with her daughters and became intimately acquainted with most everyone here. She was unusually alert and active for one of her age and remained so until her fatal illness. She was a kind, loving wife, mother and grandmother and a good neighbor and friend. She was a devout Christian, having united with the Church of Christ early in life. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and many friends here and elsewhere.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. F. Brumitt and Mrs. D. D. Roberts of Calico Rock and Mrs. W. H. Estes of Sage. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

The funeral was held at the Church of Christ at Oxford Wednesday morning services being conducted by Elder T. H. Sherrill of Searcy. Interment was in Oxford cemetery.
