ETHEL MAE LUCAS, 89, of Jacksonville, passed away on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011. She was born in Norfork, Ark., on March 25, 1922, to Calvin and Nancy Arnold. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Armond F. Lucas, and her sister, Beulah Montgomery.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Armond Jr. and Butch Lucas, Linda Keesee, and Denise and “Max” Maxam; sisters, Bernice Van Matre and Ione Partney, both of Mountain Home; grandchildren, Janis and Mike Northington, Scott and Sherri Keesee, John Keesee, Brent Lucas, Andrea and John Elliott, Jamie and Bryson Huff, great-grandchildren, Amy and Katelyn Northington, Blake and Blayn Lucas, Zachery, Rachael, Jonathan, Sarah and Catherine Keesee, Heather, Alan and Julia Elliott, and Brooklyn Huff, great-great-grandchild, Landon Northington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at Parkhill Christian Church of North Little Rock. Burial will be at 3 p.m., at Galatia Cemetery near Norfork, Ark. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, 1 Childrens Way, Little Rock, Ark. (Notes: The cremains of Ethel Mae Arnold Lucas' husband, Armond Francis Lucas--born April 10, 1920, died April 20, 1999--were interred with her. Ethel Mae Arnold Lucas was a twin. Her twin sister--Infant Daughter of Calvin & Nancy Arnold--that died at birth is also buried in the Galatia Cemetery.)
