Died July 22, 1996, Batesville, Independence County, Arkansas.
Son of James W. & Maggie Kimbrough Wilkerson.
Married Mrs. Dorothy Mae Vernon Hammond, August 8, 1942, Moore, Cleveland County, Oklahoma.

White River Current, Calico Rock, Arkansas, August 1, 1996:

Walker H. Wilkerson of Melbourne, son of the late William and Maggie Wilkerson was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He died July 22, 1996 in a Batesville hospital. He was 88. Mr. Wilkerson was a retired farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Danny Wilkerson of Brockwell and Kenneth Wilkerson of Melbourne; one step-son, Jack Hammond of Flippin’; three daughters, Earlene Wilson and Linda Cress both of Colombia, Missouri. And Sue Deeds of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Bob Wilkerson of Tulsa, Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy Lewis Wilkerson and seven brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services were held July 26, 1996 at the Crouch Chapel in Melbourne with Brother Noble Wiles officiating.

Pallbearers were Steve Stevenson, Jack Grimmett, Alfred Grice, Gerald Blevins, Gerald Taylor and David Taylor.

Interment was at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford under the direction of Crouch Funeral Home in Melbourne.
