Daughter of Ulysses Sylvester Garner & Martha Jane Pearson Garner.
Married (1) Ernest Lemar Kerr, November 1918, Independence County, Arkansas.
Married (2) William O. Stroud, July 27, 1922, Izard County, Arkansas.
Married (3) Otis Eleano Rowden, September 28, 1947, Fulton County, Arkansas.

Elsie Garner Rowden, daughter of the late Ulysses and Martha Pearson Garner was born January 2, 1903 at Newburg, Arkansas and died August 18, 1994 at her home in Oxford, Arkansas.

Mrs. Rowden was married to Ernest Kerr in 1918 and to this union one son was born. He preceded her in death in 1921. She married W. O. Stroud in 1923 and to this union three children were born. She was married to Otis Rowden in 1946 and he preceded her in death in 1961.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Oxford Church of Crist.

Mrs. Rowden is survived by two sons, Lamar Kerr of Calico Rock and Garner Stroud of Olathe, Kansas; one daughter Vivienne Garner of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two sisters, Wilma Walker of Benton, Kentucky and Myrtle Clifton of Pea Ridge; eleven grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one son, four brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers were James Wilson, Bobby Ashlin, Michael Joiner, Eric Stroud, Dan Hopper and John Stroud.

Services were August 21, 1994 at the Oxford Church of Christ with Jack Garner and Virgil Ferrill officiating.

Interment was at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of McGee-Estes Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
