Batesville Guard February 8, 1990
Vernon Wayne Scoggin, 64, of Hutchinson Mountain, died Tuesday at his home.
He was a retired sawmill operator and of the Church of Christ faith.
Scoggin was preceded in death by his father, James William Scoggin; and a sister, Margrette Kruger.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Scoggin; his mother, Lydia Scoggin of Batesville; four sons, Billy Scoggin, Tim Scoggin, Steve Scoggin and Rick Scoggin, all of Batesville; a daughter, Lisa Savage of Charlotte; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Dwayne Strother, Denver Lamons, Herbert Hays, Jim Hayes and Jimmy Burress.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Chaney Taylor, Gaylon England, Gene England and Jack Savage.
