Mrs. Amanda Hinson

Mrs. Amanda Josephine Hinson, aged 90 died Sunday, Jan. 7 in a local hospital following a long illness.

Mrs. Hinson was born near Oxford on March 7, 1871 and was a lifelong resident of Izard County. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Gibson.

Mrs. Hinson was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church for 70 years.

Her husband Lewis Henson to whom she was married in July of 1904, preceded her in death 30 years ago.

Survivors include one son, (no first name listed) Hinson of Oxford; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Tom Gibson of Oxford, and one sister, Mrs. Julie Caruthers of Kansas City, Mo.

Funeral services were held at Oxford Baptist Church Tuesday, Jan. 9 with the Revs. Hugh Cooper and Remmel Rowden officiating.

Interment was in Oxford Cemetery with Carter Funeral Home of Salem in charge.

Pallbearers were Paul Grills, Ernest Blevins, Palmer Pinkston, Edd Brown, Amos Harber and Herbert Moss.
