Obituary

Addie Elizabeth Simmons, daughter of the late John and Sarah Lucy Forrest Jacobs was born in Izard Co. AR on June 11, 1891. Departed this life in Calico Rock Med. Center on Nov 11, 1977 at the age of 86 years and 5 months. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Carson Simmons at Oxford, AR on July 7, 1907 and to this union two children were born. She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Mrs. Lela Yancey of Oxford, AR, Mrs. Hazel Chadwick of Plano, TX, two brothers, Hobart Jacobs of Irving, TX, Harlin Jacobs of Tulsa, OK, seven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Funeral services were held on Monday, Nov 14, 1977 at 10:30 a.m. at the Oxford Methodist Church with Rev. Remmel Rowden officiating. Interment was in the Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the Leland Carter Funeral Home of Salem. Casket bearers were: James Dillard, Terry Dillard, Terrence Helm, Ronnie Helm, Carroll Dillard and Noble Rowden.
