November 20, 1871 - April 12, 1955
Dr. Charles M. Plunkett, age 83, died at the Ouachita County hospital early Tuesday morning. He was born and raised in Calhoun County, and was educated at the University of Arkansas Medical School. He began his practice in 1904 at Elliott, Ark., which has been his home for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sallie Cook Plunkett; two brothers, L. F. Plunkett and J. P. Plunkett both of Hampton; and by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Plunkett Cemetery near Locust Bayou. Proctor Funeral Home will be in charge. The deceased had requested that no flowers be sent. (Camden News - April 12, 1955)
