Floral man dies as boat capsizes in White River
Johnny Lloyd Roberts, 60, of Floral drowned Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in the White River near Oil Trough.
Born in Marianna, Roberts was the son of Sam and Ruth Dordrell Roberts. He was an Army veteran and served with the military police.
Survivors include two sons, Johnny K. Roberts and Tom Roberts, both of Southside; a daughter, Debbie McDermott of Little Rock; his mother, Ruth Roberts of Westwood, Calif.; two brothers, Luther Roberts of Westwood, and Lee Roberts of Oakland, Calif.; two sisters, Bonnie Roberts of Westwood and Julie Tyiner of Bauxite, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Glen Wackley, Elmer Roberts, R. L. Beale, Orvil Gay, Dean Lambert and H. Paul Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Frankie Rutledge and Jessie Smith.
