HUSKINS, J.C. - J.C. Huskins died very suddenly Monday night at eight o'clock at his home six miles north of Rogers. Mr. Huskins had suffered with stomach trouble for a number of years and was taken quite ill while attending the fair here several weeks ago with an attack resembling cramp or cholera morbus. The worst was feared then for several days but he grew better and in a short time was able to be around again and was thought to have quite recovered. Monday he was suddenly taken ill again and death came soon to relieve his sufferings. Brief funeral services were held at the home this morning at nine o'clock and the body was then brought to town. The Masons and G.A.R. accompanied the body to the cemetery and held brief services at the grave. Mr. Huskins was quite well along in years, being past 70 years old. He was considered one of the best men in his community and had the respect and good will of everyone. He came to Benton county from Carthage, Mo. in 1889. He had lived only a year or two in Missouri however, going there from Washington county, Iowa where he had lived the greater portion of his life. He leaves a wife and four children: Dick Huskins of Mena; John, an assistant in the Rogers post office, and Jim and Blanche, who are both still at home.
