STRAIN, John A. - John A. Strain, a former resident of near Decatur, died suddenly at his home in Mason Valley on December 27th, 1923 at the age of 54 years. He was born in Polk county, Mo. on October 29th, 1969 where he grew to manhood. At the age of 37 he married Miss Addie Coffman, who died in 1898. In 1919 at Aldrich, Mo. he married Mrs. Sallie Williams. He engaged in business here a number of years and was also postmaster in that town. Later he moved to Arkansas and located on a farm near Decatur. He is survived by his wife, four brothers and three sisters. Burial was made in the Coffelt cemetery with Rev. R.F. Jones officiating. Mr. Strain confessed Christ at an early age and lived a faithful Christian life. He leaves behind him a host of friends and relatives to mourn his death.
