Edna Elnora Wray of Calico Rock, daughter of the late William Rufus Smith and Ida Bell Hartgraves Smith was born March 6, 1920 in Brockwell. She died September 13, 1998 at Calico Rock Healthcare in Calico Rock. Se was 78.
Mrs. Wray was united in marriage to Olen Hershel Wray July 9, 1938. They were married 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ and attended services in Calico Rock.
Survivors include her husband of Calico Rock; two sons, Norman William Wray of Salem and Walter Robert Wray of Calico Rock; three daughters, Ida Lee Jeffery of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Marie Marshall of Tupelo, Oklahoma and Lena Fay Chandler of Calico Rock; one sister, Annie Wootton of Oxford; six grandchildren, Justin and Chad Wray, Jennifer Miller, John and Christina Marshall and Bruce Chandler; one great-grandson, Taylor Chase Miller; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nadine Wray; six brothers, Whit, Oscar, Arthur, Vaughn, Thurman and Curry Smith; two sisters, Nannie Anderson and Bertha Rogers; one granddaughter, Stacy Ann Jeffery; and her parents.
Services will be held Friday, September 18, 1998 at Cox-Estes Chapel in Salem at 11:00 a.m. with Brother David Gibson officiating.
Interment will follow at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Estes Funeral Home in Salem.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox-Estes Chapel in Salem.
