BLACK, James, Jr. - James Black, Jr. died at the home of his parents south of town March 13, 1918. He was born Sept. 9, 1899. He was sick only a few days and was not thought to be dangerously ill until a short time before death came to his relief. His stay on earth was short but well spent. He leaves a father, mother, three brothers and one sister to mourn their loss. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Yancey, pastor of the Central Methodist church of this city and the body was laid to rest in the Rogers cemetery to await the coming of our blessed Savior.
