William Solomon Passes Away at Oxford Home
Funeral services for William Lewis Solomon, who passed away at his home near Oxford, Thursday March 22, where conducted Sunday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oxford Methodist – Presbyterian Church by Rev. Rememl Rowden. The Song Service was directed by Gradon Bone. Funeral Music was given by Mrs. Earl Edmonston.
Mr. Solomon was born at Savannah, Tennessee, November 26, 1871. He came to Arkansas in 1930 and in the same year was married to Miss Fannie McVey of Oxford.
Besides his wife, Mr. Solomon is survived by eight children, four sons and four daughters, all of a former marriage. Following the funeral services, burial was in the Oxford Cemetery under direction of the Carter Funeral Service Salem. Casket bearers were: Earl McVey, Caborn Meston, Roy Singleton, Ernest Helm, Edison Dilja and Eldredge Sherrell.
