Bill was born to Simon & Ada (Miller)Schlabach. He was of Swiss-German descent. His parents & ancestors were of the Amish-Mennonite faith. He served in the U.S. Navy where he was given the nickname Bill. Bill served as Mayor of Parkin, AR from 1969-1986 and was reelected in 1999 serving until his sudden death in 2000.
