Herbert W. Hays, 73, of Floral died Monday at his home.
Born at Hutchinson Mountain, he was the son of Bryan and Willy Z. McGahn Hays. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Petty Hays; five daughters, Elsie Loveness of Klamath Falls, Ore., Jennifer Rawson of Malin, Ore., Connie Hays of Chula Vista, Calif., Janice Leonard of Cloverdale, Ore., and Judy Hays of Salem, Ore.; two stepsons, James Hicks of Hook Texas, and Jeffery Hicks of Hutchinson Mountain; three half brothers, Kenneth "Beebe" Hays of Verdon, Neb., Neil Hays of Haysville, Kan., and Jimmy Hays of Batesville; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
