CALICO ROCK — Ullman Otho Harris, 88, of Calico Rock died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in Calico Rock.

Born Dec. 10, 1923, in Gorby, he was the son of Austin D. and Myrtle Blankenship Harris. He was united in marriage to Johnnie Garner in February 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Ormsby, ascending to the rank of electrician's mate third class. He received an honorable discharge in 1946.

In 1953 he went to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad as a traveling electrician. He retired after 33 years of employment. He was a member of Masons Lodge Acacia No. 625 in Calico Rock and Calico Rock Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7730.

Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Lindsey of Calico Rock and Kathryn Irvin of DeSoto, Kan.; a nephew, Randy Russell of Florida; and two nieces, Diane Rush of Calico Rock and Kathy Riggs of Garland, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Johnnie R. Harris; and his parents.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mike Smith and Dr. Robert Lane officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Alton Rush, Paul Rush, Matt Rush, Chris Haley, Daniel Haley, Karen Haley, Bob Martin and James McDaniel.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
