Harold “Ray” McPherson, age 65 of North Little Rock left this home for a better home on January 18, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Doni McPherson of Mayflower, Arkansas and two brothers Edgar McPherson Jr. of Jacksonville and Innis McPherson of Conway. He leaves behind his childhood sweetheart and bride of 47 years, Jean Ellen McPherson; three wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Rhonda McPherson of Sherwood, Tim and K.C. McPherson, of Conway, and Jay and Melissa McPherson, of North Little Rock; three sweet granddaughters, Lyndie, Talor and Emily McPherson and one sweet grandson, Tylor McPherson; two brothers, Johnny C. McPherson and Charles McPherson, of North Little Rock; four sisters, Juanita Higdon, of Wooster, Arkansas; Elizabeth Reeves, of Damascus, Arkansas, Mary Dycus, of Morgan, Arkansas, Velma Bailey, of Bethany, Illinois and a host of other relatives and friends and a wonderful church family at First Pentecostal Church of North Little Rock, where he first began attending in 1951.

Ray worked in the swimming pool industry from 1959 until 1990 when his health failed, requiring him to close his business. Despite retirement Ray stayed busy, working for his church maintaining the grounds then with Care Link and North Little Rock senior citizen outreach transporting senior citizens. Ray was a perfectionist at everything. He loved the people he worked with and “never met a stranger.” Ray loved to talk, and if he talked to you long enough he would usually find out that he knew you or someone close to you. Ray was a fighter and never wanted to give up or say no to someone needing his help. God has called him home and he will be greatly missed.

Memorials may be made to First Pentecostal Church, 1401 Calvary, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday at First Pentecostal Church. Burial will be in Mayflower Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday at the church. Arrangements by North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
