Feb 11, 1955 – Sim Eakins, Aged 84 Dies at Melbourne
Sim R. Eakins, 84 year-old resident of Melbourne, was found dead at his home Tuesday afternoon. He was born in Missouri but the greater part of his life was spent at Melbourne.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs H. L. Jennings of Melbourne and 11 nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 at the Melbourne Baptist Church. Rev. A. F. Muncy officiated. Burial was in the Melbourne Cemetery.
