Lorena Mae Harris Burri, 86, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. Born Dec. 7, 1924, in the Hutchinson community in Independence County, she was the daughter of Earl L. and Elizabeth Brumbley Harris. She married George Burri on Oct. 6, 1945, at Vancouver, Wash. She retired from the Arkansas State Hospital and worked at Family Dollar Store for 10 years after retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, growing flowers, canning vegetables from her garden and talking to everyone. She was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dale Burri; and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David William Burri; two brothers, John Harris and Lawrence Harris; and five sisters, Monie Strother, Myrtle Candler, Hester Muns, Lucy Harris and Nina Candler.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Park Baptist Church, located at 8200 Flintridge Road in Little Rock with David Harris officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Palestine Cemetery, located in the Hutchinson community in Independence County. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock.
