John Elbert Phelps, age 82 of Greenbrier died Sunday May 7th, 2006. He was born February 9th, 1924 in Enola to the late John Allen and Marie Powell Phelps. John and his family moved to California in the early 50’s where he went to work for General Motors and retired with them after 30 years of employment. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Londale, California.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Catherine Mitchell Phelps, by two sons: Tim Phelps and wife Ashley of Greenbrier and Danny Phelps of Conway; and by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and Great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert Alkire, Lee Arnel, Jonathon Phelps, Raymond Schwoch, Van Nooner & Kaylin Phelps.
