When James Franklin Troutman was born on October 30, 1876, in Faulkner, Arkansas, his father, Henry, was 36 and his mother, Mary, was 24. He married Elizabeth Ann "Della" Turner on December 20, 1899, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas. They had ten children in 22 years. He died on February 7, 1933, in Mayflower, Arkansas, at the age of 56, and was buried there.
