PEA RIDGE — Mildred Walker, 85, of Pea Ridge died Dec. 20, 2005, at her home. She was born July 5, 1920, in Pea Ridge to Luther Nelson and Gertrude Avis Woods Martin. She was a life-long resident of the area and had worked at L.N. Martins Store in Pea Ridge for several years and for Stroud's Mercantile in Rogers for 20 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pea Ridge, taught Sunday school, played piano and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping and traveling. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Avis Greene.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Max Walker, to whom she was married on Nov. 3, 1940; one son-in-law Haryle Greene of Pea Ridge; two grandsons, Matt Greene of Great Britain and Travis Greene of Rogers; one sister, Martha Lee Westberg of Springdale; three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with the Rev. Bill Steele and Chaplain Jay Walker officiating. The Rev. Jerry Nichols will officiate at the graveside at Pea Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Graveside set for 10 a.m., Dec. 22 at Pea Ridge Cemetery. Arrangements by Sisco Funeral Home, Pea Ridge. No Visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials made to the Pea Ridge Veterans Memorial, c/o Sisco Funeral Home, P.O. Box 54, Pea Ridge, AR 72751.
