Mr. John Junior Gossett, 63 of Conway, died Friday, May 1, 2009. John was born November 6, 1945 in Cato, AR to the late John D. and Katie (McPhearson) Gossett. Mr. Gossett was raised in the Cato Community. He was self-employed in the construction business for many years. He liked to fish and hunt, especially rabbit, using his favorite beagles. John showed horses in local competitions and enjoyed the company of horses into his later life. He was a very kind and loving husband and father.
John is survived by his wife (Married 18 Mar 1965) Georgetta "Judy" (Gray) Gossett of Conway; daughters Stacy L. Gossett, Debra E. Willis and husband Dale, and Johnia L. Nichols and husband Michael; grandchildren Megan Willis, John Dale Willis, Madison Nichols, and Blair Nichols; and great grandchild Jaran "Lil Man" Willis; extended family the Swindle girls: Sloan, Polly and Swan; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by brothers Willie M "Pete" Gossett, Harlis L. "Toddler" Gossett, and James O. Gossett and sisters Ruth C. Rickett and Anna Rickett.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2009 in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Norman Powell. Burial will follow at Cato Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the funeral home, 1751 Dave Ward Dr., Conway, AR 72034, 501-327-5000. Memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 6101 St. Vincent Circle, Little Rock, AR 72205.
