"Donald Eugene Elliott, age 72, of North Little Rock, died Sunday, August 22, 2004. He was born in Levy, Arkansas to the late Harry and Dorothy Garner Elliott. He was a member of Levy Baptist Church. He attended North Little Rock Schools and UALR. Mr. Elliott owned and operated North Little Rock Paint and Supply and was later employed by the City of North Little Rock in the Urban Renewal and Community Development departments and as a supervisor in the Sanitation Department, retiring after 21 years of service. Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Army during the 1950s and was stationed in Germany. Mr. Elliott enjoyed traveling to Branson and visiting his son and grandchildren in California. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, (Married 22 Aug 1951) Nancy Odle Elliott, three sons; Richard Elliott and wife Sheila of Sherwood, Gary Elliott and wife Mia of Thousand Oaks, CA., Danny Elliott and wife Paulette of Sherwood; one daughter, Donna Batte and husband, Bill of Sherwood. Eleven grandchildren; Zac Elliott and wife Sarah, of Sherwood, Amanda Elliott Lankford and husband, Chad of Siloam Springs, AR, Brandon and Leah Elliott of Thousand Oaks, CA., Kayla Woodard, Kirsten and Kendyl Elliott, all of Sherwood, Brandon and Kameron Butler of Thousand Oaks, CA, Ashleigh and David Batte of Sherwood; two great-grandchildren, Chasidy and Ashtin Lankford of Siloam Springs, AR and one brother; Jarrell Elliott and wife Miriam of Newport News, VA and by his beloved dog Skipper. We will miss his laugh, his fascination with gadgets and "junk" and most of all, his love for all of us. He often told his children that the older they got, the smarter he would seem to them. He was so right, because a very wise man left us on Sunday. If only we had taken all his advice to heart. Our beloved Husband, Dad, Pawpaw, Great Grandpawpaw, Brother, we will always love you and cherish the memories we made together. Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 27, 2004 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (791-7400). Interment will be at Cato United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 P.M., Thursday, August 26, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Inc., Woodhome Medical Building, Suite 515, 1838 Greene Tree Road, Baltimore, MD 21208.
