January 7, 1898 - April 13, 1967
Lewis Irvin Simpson, 69, of 518 Nelson St., died at his home Thursday afternoon following a heart attack. He was a retired mail contractor and a methodist. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Stuart Simpson; one son, James L. Simpson, El Dorado; four daughters, Mrs. Ed West, El Dorado, Mrs. Don Bumpass, Mrs. Eli Sorrells and Mrs. James Paschal, all of Pine Bluff; three brothers, Jack Simpson and Irvin Simpson, both of Thornton, and Horace Simpson, Delhi, La., and five sisters, Mrs. Mary Harper, El Dorado, Mrs. Carl Sullivant, Mrs. Richard Hopkins and Mrs. H. J. Gardner, Fordyce. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel in Fordyce. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. (El Dorado Daily News - April 14, 1967)
