James F Harris, 87, of Mayflower, AR passed away in his home July 15, 2011. He was the son of James Amos Harris & Cecil Valle Dodson Harris. He was born August 31, 1923.

Jim was a veteran of the US Army Air Corps. He was stationed in Hobbs, New Mexico & there he met his wife of nearly 68 years. He moved to Texas where he worked as a farmer & rancher. January of 1958 brought the family to Mayflower, Arkansas where he continued to farm & work on the missile bases all over central Arkansas. He was blessed to use his skills in his own church working on three building phases for First Baptist Church of Mayflower of which one building bears his name. The Jim Harris Educational Building was dedicated in 1987. The things he was best known for was his firm handshake, stern voice, love for his family & service to his Lord.
