ROGERS -- Elsie Irene Shannon, 75, of Rogers died Oct. 24, 1999, at Oak Grove. She was born March 7, 1924, in San Saba, Texas, to Jefferson Floyd and Golda Ellen Brown Lewis. She moved to the area in 1959 from San Antonio, Texas. She worked for Emerson Electric in Rogers for 22 years before retiring. She was a member of San Saba Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Garland Shannon.
Survivors include four sons, Lewis Wayne Shannon of Gilbert, S.C., Marlan Dale Shannon of Little Flock, Garland Glenn Shannon of Huntsville and Mark Shannon of Rogers; two daughters, Elsie Louise Kerns of Oak Grove and Donna Kay Carter of Rogers; three brothers, J.C. Lewis of El Paso, Texas, J.D. Lewis of Richardson, Texas and Charles Leewis of Springfield, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Rambo Cemetery with Dwayne Lane officiating. Arrangements are by Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Carroll County Hospice program.
