Gertrude Lee Maples was born 18 JAN 1891 in Pleasant Ridge, Carroll County, Arkansas, and died 20 MAY 1972 in Green Forest, Carroll County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Burl Maples and Sarah Lou Coxsey. She married Robert Melton Powell. He was born 1 APR 1883, and died 15 JUL 1954.
