Mrs. Sarah A. Martin Dies Saturday Morning

Mrs. Sarah A. Martin aged 76 a resident of Oxford the greater part of her life, died Friday morning, February 7, 1953 at the home of a son at Tupelo. She had made her home at Tupelo the past several months.

Mrs. Martin was born in North Carolina, moving to Arkansas as a child. She remained a resident of Izard County the remainder of her life. She was married to B. B. Martin, who preceded her in death by nearly three years. She was a devout member of the Methodist Church.

Surviving are four sons, O. E. Martin and Leslie Martin of Oxford, Osro Martin of Tupelo and Ezra Martin of Calico Rock; two daughters, Mrs. C. O. Forrest of Calico Rock and Miss Bessie Martin of Jonesboro, Ark.; and one sister, Mrs. John Hamilton of Violet Hill.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist Church at Oxford, with the Rev. Y. D. Whitehurst of Melbourne officiating. Burial was in the Oxford Cemetery, with the Hall Funeral Service in charge.

Pall bearers were: Olin Moss, Edison Dillard, Kenneth Harber, Garland Morgan, Ernest Clinton and Sterling Sexton.
