Jewell A. Ball

Jewell Annis Ball of Oxford, daughter of the late Earnest Stroud and Edna Sherrell Stroud, was born March 9, 1913, in Wideman. She died Dec. 22, 2005, at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne at the age of 92 years.

She was married to Willie W. Ball in 1936 at Newark. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Carol E. Ball and wife, Peggy, of Liberty, Mo., Harold W. Ball and wife, Mary, of Mount Pleasant, Darrell Ball and wife, Linda, and Willene B. Grimmett and husband, Jackie, all of Oxford; grandchildren, Jordan and Emma Webb, Nicholas and Annis Ball, Laney and Maddi Crider, Rocky Lacey, Katie, Nicholas and Anna Ball and Christopher and Jennifer Stephens; and sisters, Vernie Goacher, Verline Lawrence and Earnest Dean Stroud.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, James E. Ball; a grandson, Willie Wayne Ball; brothers, Hurl Dillian, Odel, Marshal and Calbert Stroud; sister, Eudene Byram; and her father and mother.

Services were held Dec. 23 at Cox Blevins Funeral Chapel with burial in the Oxford Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home
