CAVE SPRINGS — Ponder Cousins, 76, of Cave Springs died Jan. 6, 1996, at his home. He was born Feb. 4, 1919, at Japton to Richard E. and Melissa R. Harriman Cousins. He was an Army veteran of World War II and opened a dairy business in 1947. He moved to the area in 1961 from Wesley and was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife Rachel R. Beatty Cousins of the home, to whom he was married in 1937; three sons, Everett B. Cousins of Huntsville, Carl E. Cousins of Springdale and Jimmy L. Cousins of Cave Springs; four daughters, Joyce I. Freeman of Springdale, Peggy E. Brunton of Wichita, Kan., Brenda K. Simpson of Cave Springs and Beverly A. Howerton of Pea Ridge; three brothers, Buford Cousins of Huntsville, Troy Cousins of Japton and Dean Cousins of Tulsa, Okla.; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Cave Springs Church of Christ with Jim Hale officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Bentonville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
