MELBOURNE — Burl E. Hall Morgan, 88, of Melbourne died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, in Salem.

Born Jan. 26, 1919, in Melbourne, she was the daughter of Burl Ernest Hall and Eler Leonard Hall. She was united in marriage to Jack Morgan on Aug. 19, 1949. She was a homemaker and an active member of Millcrest Church of Christ in Melbourne.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years; two sons, Robert B. Gifford and Gary H. Gifford, both of Melbourne; six grandchildren, Jennifer Helms of Russellville, Juliet Farquharson of Plano, Texas, Terry Kennedy and Laurie Pulver, both of Wenatchee, Wash., Gary Blane Gifford of Chehalis, Wash., and Lorraine Johnston of Henderson, Nev.; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Howard Hall, Woodrow Hall and Bill Hall; and four sisters, Ruth Wilson, Magalene Kerr, Modema Wren and Ann Hill.

The funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Frank Curtis officiating. Burial was in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Hall, Vic Hall, Bob Martin, Gerald Coleman, Neil Farquharson and Jim Muncy.

Honorary pallbearers were J.D. Hall, Orbra Ward, Jay Bryant, Eddie Morgan, Pall Hall, Al Gillihan and Jack Hayes.

Memorials may be made to the Oxford Cemetery maintenance fund in Oxford.
