White River Current, Calico Rock, Arkansas, May 7, 1992:
Nola Jean Reeves of Melbourne, daughter of the late W. M. Martin and Emma Pearson Martin, was born January 16, 1912 in Oxford. She died on Monday evening May 4, 1992 at White River Medical Center in Batesville at the age of 81.
Nola was married to Dick Reeves on December 30, 1942. She was retired from civil service. She worked 38 years for the Farmers Home Administration. Nola was a charter member of the Eastern Star and a member of the United Methodist in Melbourne.
She is survived by her husband, Dick Reeves of Melbourne; two nieces, Rudell McSpadden of Oxford and Carolyn Elmore of West Plains, Missouri, and one nephew, Billy Rowden of Little Rock. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were held Wednesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in the Howard Chapel in Melbourne, with Doyle Berckefeldt and Lloyd Conyers officiating. Pallbearers were H. E. Jennings, T. J. Harris, Y. D. Whitehurst, James N. Blankenship, Paul Phipps, Gene McSpadden, Don Helm and Jim Muncey. Honorary pallbearers were Darrell Sherrell, Eudell Smith, Eldon Yancey, Ed Arnold and Fred Blankenship. Burial was at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford under the direction of the Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne. Memorials may be sent to the United Methodist Church of Melbourne.
