All Conway mourned the passing of a distinguished citizen. Following a valiant fight of five weeks against pneumonia, Dr. George S. Brown, 79, dean of the medical profession in Faulkner County and prominent in the ranks throughout the state, succumbed at his home at Caldwell and Center streets. Doubtless, Dr. Brown's talents as a physician and surgeon could have brought him great wealth if he had chosen to practice in some large city, but Dr. Brown preferred the realm of general practice in a small town, where he had intimate contact with thousands of patients.

Returning from Booneville, where he spent Thanksgiving at the Arkansas Tuberculosis Sanitarium, Dr. George S. Brown, one of the trustees of that institution, is enthusiastic over the fine results being achieved by the sanitarium and the bright prospects for its future development. Dr. Brown visited with many of the patients, including Faulkner County patients at the institution, and said they seemed so cheerful and happy that one could hardly realize all of them had been suffering from tuberculosis and many of them had been saved from premature death from that disease.
