CHASE, Permilia Ann TRIPP Herrick - The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Chase were shocked over the sudden death of Mrs. Chase, the result of a stroke of apoplexy suffered last Thursday night from which she never recovered and passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 1919 at 1:30 p.m. Permilia Ann Tripp was born in York State Aug. 16, 1856. She was twice married; first to Geo. R. Herrick, to which union four children were born, all of whom died in early childhood. Mr. Herrick died in 1890. She was married to Mr. Chase in August 1908, moved to Gravette about 7 years ago and had won the friendship of all who came to know her. Mrs. Chase was a devoted Christian from childhood and was a loyal member of the Presbyterian church of Gravette. The funeral was conducted from the residence Saturday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. W.P. Reed and interment was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. To the bereaved companion the community offers sympathy.

{from Gravette} Mrs. Melia Chase, aged 63 years, died at her home in this city last Friday of heart failure. She is survived by her husband, the only immediate relative. The remains were laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
