James Richard Everett son of the late Ralph and Nellie Couch Everett was born March 24, 1931 in Bandmill. He died July 15, 1998 in Cherokee Village. He was 67.

M.r Everett was united in marriage to Armilda Sherrell January 15, 1954 in Kansas City, Missouri. To this union two sons were born. He was the city superintendent for the city of Oxford for many years.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one son Jimmy Everett of Oxford; four brothers, Darrell Everett of Little Rock, Hub Everett of Oxford, Haril Everett of Bandmill and Jerry Everett of Vilonia; two grandchildren, Stephanie Heidelberg and Danielle Brashears both of Searcy; one great grandchild, Abby Heidelberg and one step great-grandchild, Lacey Heidelberg. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richie Everett; one brother, Mark Everett and a sister Creclen Everett.

Funeral services were held July 17, 1998 at the Roman & Billy Memorial Chapel in Melbourne.

Pallbearers were Glen Everett, Dennis Everett, Ricky Everett, Alan Sherrell, Randy Sherrell and Vern Garner. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Sherrell, Connie Everett, Curran Everett, Kenny Everett, Charles Sherrell and Timmy Sherrell

Interment was at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
