White River Current, Calico Rock, Arkansas, June 13, 1996:
Elna Jo McVey of Horseshoe Bend daughter of the late Clarence and Grace Azer Beams, was born January 8, 1931 in Wright City, Oklahoma. She died June 4, 1996 in Salem. She was 65.
Mrs. McVey was united in marriage to Don McVey in Austin, Texas, in 1956.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Donna McVey of Conway; and one brother, Ray Beams of Austin, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were held June 7, 1996 at the Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford with brother Keith Finley officiating.
Pallbearers were Russell Sherrell, Ed Stephens, Mike McCandlis, Jack Yancey, David Sherrell, Tim Dockins, and Bob Milles.
Interment was at the Oxford Cemetery in Oxford under the direction of Howard Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Memorials may be sent to the Heart Association.
