Emma Morgan of Oxford, daughter of the late R. C. and Fannie Hamilton Tatum, was born May 26, 1902 at Oxford. She died September 15, 1999 at Pioneer Nursing Home in Melbourne. She was 97.
Mrs. Morgan was united in marriage to Garland Morgan February 22, 1920 at Crossroads. To this union, four children were born. She was a mother and homemaker. She was a member of Oxford Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Mae Dean Morgan of Gassville and Jackson and B. E. Morgan of Melbourne; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda Billie and C. A. Brimm of Oxford; one sister, Ella Davis of West Plains, Missouri; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland; one daughter, Lavoun Reeves; one grandson, Rodney Hill; two brothers, H. B. and Talmadge Tatum; eight sisters, Bulla Morgan, Mary Webb, Lucy Armstrong, Vida Dixon, Alma Clinton, and Willie, Nettie and Ida Tatum and her parents.
Funeral services were held September 17, 1999, at Oxford Methodist Church with Loy Vern Mason officiating.
Interment was at Oxford Cemetery under the direction of Cox-Estes-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
