OXFORD, Ark. -- Services for Lois Caruthers, 91, Healdton, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at the Oxford Baptist Church in Oxford. Bro. Author Barber will officiate with interment at Oxford Cemetery.

Born Jan. 2, 1911, at Oxford, to Walter and Kee Jane Powell Cantrell, she died Jan. 9, 2002, at a Healdton health-care facility.

She and Troy Caruthers were married on May 25, 1930, at Oxford. He preceded her in death in November 1998. She loved to crochet.

Survivors include a son, Junior Caruthers and wife, Mary Ann, of Independence, Mo.; two daughters, Glenna Goodwin and husband, Gerald, of Healdton, and Gwen Martin, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five sisters, Ruby Evans, Salem, Ark., Lenora Yancey and Mabel Martin, both of Oxford, and Willie Raines and Adell Standerford, both of Wenatchee, Wash.; a brother, Roe Cantrell, Salem; five grandchildren, Theresa Thomas, Independence, Mo., Denise Aikman, Skiatook, Rhonda Worsham, Roundrock, Texas, Phillip Martin, Cody, Wyo., and Lee Caruthers, Independence; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded by her parents and three sisters, Lotha Martin, Pauline Campbell and Glendora Cantrell.

Bearers will be Jack Yancey, Billy Martin, Jim Cantrell, Donald Ward, Bob Thomas and Lee Caruthers.

Spivey's Reser Funeral Home will direct services.
