WIGHT, Lucy A. WOODS - Lucy A. Wight {nee Woods) was born June 23, 1874 and was married to A.S. Wight September 8, 1901. To this union were born four children, three of whom are living and one having died in infancy. Sister Lula, as she was always called, received a hope in Jesus some time in early life and upon a confession of her faith and hope in her Savior was received in the fellowship of Little Flock Church of Primitive Baptists about Oct. 9, 1902 and was baptized by Eld. R.S. Kirkland. For two years or more she has suffered with tuberculosis. The ablest physicians available were summoned and attended her after all a loving husband, relatives and faithful friends could do for her and her wanting to live though not afraid to die, on October 17, 1911, the Lord relieved her from all her troubles and sufferings and received her disembodied spirit into the paradise of God. Sister Wight was truly a good woman and loved by all who knew her. Her whole life was spent in Benton county, Arkansas and in the same neighborhood where she died. The community will miss her. She was a good neighbor, a kind and affectionate wife, a loving mother, a true Christian and a faithful member of the church. Funeral services were conducted by Eld. W.J. Taylor in the presence of a large concourse of relatives, brethren, sisters and friends, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Little Flock cemetery to await the resurrection of the Just. Her condition is better; merciful God, comfort the heart-stricken husband, the mourning relatives and friends. Jesus, take the three little motherless children in Thy arms and bless them, put Thy love in their hearts and prepare and help them to live as did their mother and when Thou are done with them here, take them to meet their mother and Thee in the paradise of God. Prayerfully, W.F. Easley.
