TACKER, William J. - William J. Tacker died Monday afternoon at his home, No. 221 North Sixth street, after a years confinement to his home as the result of a cancer. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Little Flock church at 2:00 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. A.A. DeLaney, pastor of the First Baptist church of Rogers. Burial in the Little Flock cemetery. William J. Tacker was born March 17, 1857 in Madison county, Arkansas and came to Rogers from that county 27 years ago. He was married to Minervia Jane Winchester in 1879 and to this union were born eight children, five of whom are living: James Tacker of Garfield; Luther Tacker of Marble; Mrs. C.H. Henry of Carthage, Mo.; S.M. Tacker, Crane, Mo. and Bert Tacker of Carbondale, Colorado. The mother died December 12, 1901. In 1902 Mr. Tacker married Miss Leona Henry of Howell county, Mo. who survives him and to this union were born three children - Mrs. Arthur Matthews of Carthage, Mo.; Mrs. Frank Gray of Rogers and Lawrence, who is still at home.
