Donald Webster Ellzey Sr.

Donald Webster Ellzey Sr., son of the late Thomas R. Ellzey and Annie Mae Grayson Ellzey, was born Oct. 23, 1950, in Jones County, Miss. He died May 2, 2006, in Mountain Home at the age of 55. He served in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War. Ellzey was a commercial truck driver.

He was united in marriage to Virginia Winters on Aug. 6, 1993, in Poplarville, Miss. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Virginia Ellzey of Oxford; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Jason Heathcock of Enterprise, Miss., Dianna and Scott Conner of Tampa, Fla., and Teia Ellzey of Oxford; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald Ellzey of Hattiesburg, Miss., and Sgt. Billy Ellzey and wife, Sarah, of Baumhol Der, Germany; four brothers, David Ellzey of Las Cruces, N.M., Larry Ellzey of Kentwood, La., Darrn Ellzey of Peidmont, Ala., and Dolan Ellzey of Piedmont; four grandchildren, Amber Ellzey, Jordan Roberts, Ryan Conner and Erin Heathcock; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, R.T. Ellzey.

The funeral service was held May 6 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne. Burial followed in Oxford Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Eric Ellzey, Lawrence Ellzey, Justin Ellzey, Frank Taylor, Gill Miller, Shane Ellzey, John Ferguson, Wilson Winters, Jason Heathcock and Scott Conner.
