World War II
1921 - 2002
Mr. Richards was a son of Lonzo and Jewell Samples Richards and was married to Mary Joe McDaniel.
He was attached to the 11th Bomb Group, 98th Bomb Squadron, 7th Air Force and served as a tail gunner on a B-24 Bomber. During his tour in the Pacific, Mr. Richards was awarded eight Air Medals, three Distinguished Medals, two Purple Hearts and the Silver Star. (Source: "My Country Called" by Arnold A. Wright)
