Uncle Jake Cloer entered into rest at 4 o'clock on the morning of March 23. The end was peaceful and serene, a fitting close to a life that had been a benediction to all who came within the radius of its influence. In Missouri, in 1844, on the 27th day of January, Jacob T. Cloer was born, the oldest of a family of ten children. He came to this county when a boy. He served in the Union army during the Civil War and at the close of the war he returned home and married Louisa Stone of this county. He joined the Christian Church when a young man and in all his long communion was a consistent and obedient member. He leaves a wife, three children and an aged father and mother to mourn his loss. The entire family have the sincerest sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hale of Springdale and the remains were laid to rest in the Sonora cemetery. Hettie Cloer.
