Mr. Dwight Pannell, 62, of Hamburg died Friday, April 7, 2006, at his residence in the Pine Hill community outside Hamburg. A native of West Memphis and a resident of Hamburg for the past 37 years, he retired from Georgia Pacific's paper mill in 2000. He was a former member of the Arkansas National Guard, a member of the National Rifle Association, attended Eden Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman.


He is survived by a daughter, Lynnette Pannell of Crossett; a son, John Pannell and wife Tonya of Hamburg; his mother, Doris Looney Pannell of West Memphis; four brothers, Gerald Pannell of Conway, Hardy Pannell of Proctor, Billy Pannell of Southaven, MS, and Neal Pannell of Crawfordsville; and two grandchildren, Destinee Pannell and Carla Pannell. He was preceded in death by his father, John Pannell, in 1997.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday, April 10, in the Eden Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Titsworth officiating. Burial followed services at the Carlock Cemetery. Pallbearers were Curtis Doss, Billy Swan, Shane Carpenter, Patrick Primm, Donnie Powell and Chris Smith. Funeral arrangements were by Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
